And the lists continue to grow! I will read almost anything, as long as it's well-written. I always love to expand my reading horizons.
My introduction to Audre Lorde and I enjoyed her essays very much. I sensed a lot of compassion in her words, as well as her desire for understanding and her wish for collaboration and dialogue between people who may feel they have nothing to learn from each other due to their differences. The following quotes in particular touched me:"We do not need to become each other in order to work together."
" I am constantly defining my selves, for I am, as we all are, made up of so many different parts."
"I feel, and stake my life and my living upon it, that we become strong by doing whatever it is we need to be strong for."
